Kelp Forest at Meanwhile Gardens - Installed in the Courtyard Garden by the Old Factory Building 

Open 22 June - 2nd July Daily 10am - 6pm 

Kelp Forest is made out of 100% single use and salvaged materials and creates a tactile kelp forest on land. The external parts of the kelp are made from clear plastics and bubble wrap and the kelp is filled with other plastics, paper and fabrics. Coloured details are added and made from thin plastics. The kelp is suspended with salvaged bright orange commercial fishing rope. 

Kelp Forest captures the magnificent movement and beauty of living kelp which is often out of sight out of mind. This installation allows the viewer 'to dive’ throughout the habitat without needing to leave dry land. When installed visitors will be welcome to walk through the artwork and enjoy the different textures and the way it moves.
