Tiny Ocean Plants - Art Workshop

  • Meanwhile Gardens (map)

Phytoplankton are tiny plants that live in fresh and saltwater. They are crucial in mitigating climate change because they produce a huge amount of oxygen (more than the Amazon rainforest!) as well as storing carbon. As their numbers fall by alarming proportions, this workshop is aimed at raising awareness of their plight.

In this hands-on, one-day workshop aimed at children and their families, we will make phytoplankton installation art out of found and recycled materials and also learn how to make natural cleaners so that less chemicals that can harm them reach the water system.
